Rhinoceros beetles are herbivorous insects known for the horn-like projections on the heads of males. Most are black, Gray, or greenish in colour, and some species are covered with soft hairs. They are also referred to as Hercules beetles due to their extraordinary strength—adults can lift up to 850 times their own body weight. This strength helps them dig into leaf litter and soil to escape predators, using both their power and horns for this purpose. These beetles can grow up to six inches (15 centimetres) in length.
