Farmroot
KSB (Potassium Solubilizing Bacteria) is a biofertilizer formulation containing beneficial
potassium solubilizing bacteria with a minimum count of 5×10^8 cells
per gram. These microbes convert insoluble potassium compounds in soil into
soluble forms, making potassium more available for plant uptake. This enhances
nutrient availability, promotes vigorous plant growth, improves water
retention, and reduces the dependency on chemical potassium fertilizers.
Key Features
and Benefits:
- Potassium solubilization: Converts fixed or
unavailable soil potassium (from minerals like feldspar, mica, illite)
into forms accessible to plants by secreting organic acids.
- Promotes plant growth: Enhances root development,
water retention, and overall crop vigor.
- Boosts yield: Increases potassium uptake
and improves grain and straw yield, as demonstrated in crops like paddy.
- Eco-friendly: Reduces chemical
fertilizer use, supports sustainable and organic farming.
- Suitable for all crops and soil
types.
Recommended
Crops:
- Cereals (e.g., paddy, wheat)
- Pulses
- Oilseeds
- Fruits
- Plantation crops
- Vegetables and others
Usage and
Application:
- Mix the carrier-based
formulation with moistened farmyard manure and aerate periodically for
about 10 days before application.
- Apply 500 grams per
plant at the root zone and cover with soil; maintain good
irrigation.
- Recommended to apply twice
per crop season: once at the onset of stress release and again about
120 days after the first application.
- Field application rates can be
around 1 to 5 kg per hectare depending on the crop and
soil condition.
Scientific
Support:
- Studies show that using
KSB along with recommended nutrients and foliar potassium sprays significantly
increases plant height, tiller numbers, dry matter, grain and straw yield
due to improved potassium availability and uptake in crops like paddy.
- KSB boosts microbial population
in soil and enhances nutrient cycling.
Farmroot KSB
is a powerful biofertilizer that naturally enhances potassium
availability, promotes healthy robust crops, and supports increased sustainable
yield by reducing dependency on chemical potash fertilizers.
